WASHINGTON — The Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers about two sexual enhancement products sold on various websites — Man King and Hard Ten Days.
Both products, the FDA says, contain sildenafil, the active ingredient in erectile dysfunction prescription Viagra. Consumers are advised to stop using this product immediately and throw it away.
"Sildenafil may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels," the FDA says. "Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease often take nitrates."
Man King, according to one website that markets the male enhancement, lists numerous ingredients — ginseng, scalpers penis, Chinese matrimony vine, pilose antler of young stags, longan sarcocarp, lily, buffalos penis and fur seals penis — but no sildenafil.
A number of websites market both pills for about $1 a piece.
