LONDON — U.K.-based adult consultancy firm JCaz is working on new ways to bring niche companies to market.
With its client, adult producer Orchid, JCaz has developed an investment package to bring the studio to market.
The company said a key to the success of this plan is listing the opportunity through Crowdcube.com, a website for crowdsourced funding.
Featured in the Financial Times, The Independent, BBC, The Guardian, Bloomberg and The Times, the company said potential investors can take a stake in businesses for small amounts of cash in exchange for rewards.
The company said Orchid will offer high-end adult product, producing films with sex sharing the aesthetics of music videos.
The company plans a slate of 35 titles in the first year of production.
According to the company, these films will appeal to a young adult demographic who expects high production values.
Music, fashion and popular culture are an integral part of the vision. The films will offer sexual scenes shot against the backdrop of various locations. The company said the sex in the movies will be aspirational and educational, with the intent on enhancing real-life intimate encounters.
The funding model of Crowdcube allows investors to put in as little or as much money into a company as they wish.
Orchid will reward individuals who put up £5,000 (about US$7,742) or more, with copies of each film and the chance to join the company's cast and crew on set and as honored guests at promotional events. For £500,000 (about US$775,000), Orchid is offering a 9 percent stake in the company.
