CHATSWORTH, Calif. — On behalf of adult performer Tanya Tate, Girlfriends Films is donating $1,000 to the National Breast Cancer Coalition.
Tate’s selection is part of Girlfriend’s Films monthly charity program — one of the many reasons XCritic.com named the company the Adult Studio of the Year.
February’s donation goes to further the coalition's mission — the elimination of breast cancer by Jan. 1, 2020.
“As not only a woman, but a woman in her thirties, breast cancer is a serious concern for me," Tate said.
"I know there is a possibility one day I may be afflicted by it, as it has savagely affected people I know. I support NBCC’s mission to end breast cancer. Coming from the U.K., we are lucky enough to have access to free health care and screening for breast and cervical cancer. NBCC works towards funding cancer research, care for uninsured women, and support for people diagnosed with the disease. Cancer has affected someone known to each and every one of us, which is why my chosen charity is National Breast Cancer Coalition.”
Tate may be seen in numerous Girlfriends Films titles, including “Poor Little Shyla 1,” “Road Queen 18,” and “Net Skirts 7.0.” She is also featured on the cover of Girlfriends Films 2012 collectable wall calendar, available here.

Girlfriends Films has a long history of charitable contributions, having donated more than $20,000 in 2011. Last year the company restructured its charity program from an annual end-of-year donation to an ongoing, monthly program.
