JT's Stockroom Launches New Website

CYBERSPACE – In 1990, when its college-student founder created his first text-based "E-Catalog," Stockroom.com became the first adult toy company on the Internet. Now, with the launch of its new comprehensive website, the company has opened the latest chapter in its evolution as an "online community and service provider for the sexually-alternative population."

Stockroom.com has been primarily an e-commerce company since 1990, when its 21-year-old founder began using his college email account to interface with a still-somewhat-underground community called known as "the Internet" via an assortment of old-school channels such as Usenet groups and FTP sites. By the mid '90s, the company had established an interactive online catalog on the new world wide web at a time when few companies of its size had cleared that technical hurdle.

The 40-person Los-Angeles-based company is breaking new ground in its industry again with the launch of a new interactive website. The re-designed site includes KinkWire – an alternative sexuality forum featuring sex-celebrity moderators – live-chat customer service, and an affiliate program. There are also free eCards, wishlists, and screensavers featuring fine-art photography from the Stockroom catalog. KinkWire participants include authors and sex educators Midori and Violet Blue, Fetish Model Kumi, photographer Steve Diet Goedde, and the Stockroom's own "Kinkspondent & Cunning Linguist," Lucky Lana.

"We believe these advances will continue to strengthen our online community, complimenting our collection of high quality products, our superior customer service and our well-written, informative catalogs," Joel Tucker, the company's founder and president, said. "The new site not only facilitates a better, faster and more aesthetically-pleasing shopping experience, but also helps to build and give back to the communities that have given us so much support over the last 18 years."
