LOS ANGELES — Already renowned as home to some of the most exclusive live events in Southern California, this week found Santa Monica California's famed Barker Hangar providing a spectacular backdrop to the 10th annual XBIZ Awards, hosted by Wicked Girl Jessica Drake and Kayden Kross, and featuring Wicked Girls Kaylani Lei and Alektra Blue as presenters.
Staying true to XBIZ magazine’s goal of “honoring the influential companies and performers who play an essential role in the growth and popularity of adult entertainment around the globe,” the evening saw several high profile awards going to the talented stars, filmmakers and products of industry powerhouse Wicked Pictures.
Special attention was given to the new lines started by the company, with the breakout educational release "Jessica Drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex: Anal" being enthusiastically honored as the 2012 XBIZ Specialty Release of the Year.
Written, produced, directed, and hosted by the charismatic Wicked Girl, the "Jessica Drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex" series has become an instant hit, with XBIZ’s editors praising Drake's unique ability to "connect with people through her friendly and personal approach" and dubbing the series "the steamiest instructional line on the market!"
The company's exclusive line of sensual couples erotica Wicked Passions was similarly honored, as veteran director Brad Armstrong received the All-Black Release of the Year trophy for "A Touch of Seduction," the first title in the series to focus on the lusts and desires of an all-African American cast.
The balance of the night saw awards not only going to such prestigious in-house Wicked productions as the XBIZ Editor’s Choice releases "Horizon" (directed by Sam Hain) and Armstrong's "Rocki Whore Picture Show: A Hardcore Parody," but to several outside lines as well. Reality Blue Media’s "Superstar Showdown: Asa Akira Vs. Katsuni" was declared the Asian-Themed release of the Year, while Europe's AbbyWinters.com received the Adult Site of the Year – (Solo/All-Girl) trophy. The evening came to a rousing conclusion as famed French powerhouse Video Marc Dorcel claimed no less than three major awards.
Having enjoyed a distribution relationship with Wicked that stretches back more than 10 years, the influential European company was declared the European Studio of the Year while its gorgeous contract star Anna Polina received Female Foreign Performer of the Year. "Les Filles de la Campagne," directed by famed Dorcel collaborator Herve Bodilis and released domestically by Wicked as "The Farmer’s Daughter," received an award as the Foreign Feature Release of the Year.
Wicked Pictures proudly congratulates its talented performers, filmmakers, crews, staff and distribution partners on their success at the 10th annual XBIZ Awards.
