LOS ANGELES — Advocates for the AIDS Healthcare Foundation are planning to hold a protest at tonight’s XBIZ Awards at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.
About 3 dozen protestors will be targeting Larry Flynt, who will be given XBIZ’s first-ever “Icon” award at the show.
The demonstrators want to call attention to Flynt for his “complete disregard for his adult film performer’s safety in his pursuit of profits and disregard for worker health and safety laws,” the AHF said in a statement.
The protestors will be carrying various signs and banners, some of which will read, “money by any means, porn performers without protection.”
This rally marks the second time in a row that AHF advocates held a protest at the XBIZ Awards. At last year’s awards in Hollywood, AHF activists also targeted Flynt and Steven Hirsch of Vivid Entertainment.
