2000Charge Reports Increase of iDEAL Transactions in 2011

PASADENA — Alternative payment processor 2000charge.net has announced a 100 percent increase in transactions originating in the Netherlands using the iDEAL interbank method during 2011.

iDEAL was launched in 2005 by the Dutch Banks an alternative payment system that lets online shoppers from the Netherlands authorize online payments from their current account through their bank's online banking site.

“This online payment mechanism has been popular with Dutch consumers since its launch and has become the standard way for them to transact online," 2000Charge CEO Wolf Kring said. "It’s an instant efficient payment method with no risk of chargebacks.”

2000Charge offers iDEAL as part of the company's portfolio of billing solutions.

”Some of our North American merchants are reporting strong sales from the Netherlands via a payment method they did not even know existed,” Kring said.

iDEAL is available to consumers who are online banking customers of ABN AMRO, ASN Bank, Friesland Bank, ING, Rabobank, RegioBank, SNS Bank, Triodos Bank or Van Lanschot Bankiers.

Consumers who already have online banking can start using iDEAL right away, and merchants that use 2000Charge can start offering it.
