The program, known as the wish-list feature, works like a gift registry, according to Dave Levine, president of Convergence, which owns sexTOYsex.com.
“It’s simple; performers can logon to our site, pick a wish-list of toys that they want their fans to buy for them and wait for their gifts,” Levine told XBIZ. “The great thing is that this is a way for the affiliates to earn extra money because they’ll get a commission on the sales, and obviously the performers are in a perfect position to advertise the product.”
According to Levine, the wish-list has been in use for a little while, but the key upgrade is privacy protection for the performer.
“This is a totally anonymous set up that still allows for interaction between fans and performers,” Levine said. “A girl can receive her gift without giving out her address or even opening a post office box. Fans can even send her emails through the site and she can reply without ever revealing her email address.”
SexTOYsex.com has a long history of innovating affiliates programs for adult toy merchants. Levine believes that this latest move will be a big success, especially once the larger webcam networks determine how they want to incorporate this new feature into their business models.
“We’ve built this for individual performers and large networks alike,” Levine said. “Larger networks can sign-up all at once, but still give individual performers access codes to make their own lists. That way the wish-list keeps its personal touch.”
