LOS ANGELES — Industry veterans Lisa Massaro and Dominic Acerra have launched EMM Media, a full-service public relations firm that will specialize in adult entertainment.
EMM Media is a branch of Acerra’s well-established EMM Network, a prolific multi-media agency that has become a fixture at both adult and mainstream events with photo and video coverage. The EMM Network regularly contributes photos and interviews to several adult trade and consumer publications.
Acerra and Massaro enter the new venture armed with almost 50 years of combined experience in porn. They said their firm will focus on "client branding, promotion, marketing and publicity for individuals and companies looking to achieve maximum exposure across all forms of media.”
“We just want to go a step further simply because of the economy and the market the way it is now,” Massaro told XBIZ. “The industry has changed and people’s PR needs have changed.”
Massaro said one of EMM Media’s strengths will be its “flexibility.”
“If people want to team for a single project and see how it goes, we can afford them that flexibility,” she said. “And Dominic doesn’t just cover adult. With the EMM Network his reach extends into the mainstream.”
EMM Media is launching with a client roster that already includes Seka, Janine Lindemulder, Tabitha Stevens, Gina Lynn, Devon Michaels, Zoe Holiday, Gary Orona and Wild West Entertainment.
Acerra has recently focused on re-designing his news blog The EMM Report (EMMReport.com), and told XBIZ the EMM Media site will have its full content launch in January 2012. His more than 20 years of experience working behind the scenes in adult includes feature dance tours with Jenna Jameson, Tabitha Stevens, Janine, Felecia, Devon and Jasmine St. Clair.
Acerra's background also includes five years of marketing/promotions for KBeech Video, as well as talent such as Brooke Belle, Sophia Lynn and the retired Paulina James.
Massaro helmed the Club Magazine titles as U.S. Editorial Manager for almost 25 years, working with top models such as Angel Veil, Aria Giovanni and Victoria Zdrok as well as contract girls that included the late Marilyn Chambers, Seka, Ginger Lynn, Tera Patrick and Stephanie Swift.
In 2009, she moved from publishing into public relations, joining the team at Rising Star PR, which spearheaded an award-winning marketing campaign for Bluebird Films.
Massaro said in early 2012 she plans return to Connecticut to launch the East Coast branch of EMM Media "and solidify the company’s bi-coastal presence."
The partners said they will work “to expose clients across a wider range of demographics in addition to creating video and photo materials and providing other services not available from similar companies.”
