VAN NUYS, Calif. — Digital Playground has received a record 41 XBIZ Award nominations with “Top Guns” leading the way.
Highlights of DP’s nominations include Studio of the Year, Studio Site of the Year, as well as Best Adult Branded Pleasure Product of the Year for the Pirates, Jesse Jane collection.
The 2011 feature “Top Guns” leads the production house’s number of nominations with 11, including Best Director — Robby D., Best Special Effects and Best Parody Release.
Robby D’s release “Fighters” received six nominations in key categories. All six of DP’s contract stars were nominated individually for their work for the company this year.
“Thank you to the team at XBIZ for acknowledging our hard work at Digital Playground in striving to raise the bar for ourselves and the adult industry,” Digital Playground CEO Samantha Lewis said.
“We were ecstatic with the number of nominations that we received as it doubled from last year. I am anticipating the awards show as it is sure to be a proud moment for all of us.”
JewelBox Films flagship series, “Cherry” directed by Kay Brandt received five nominations, including Best Director for an Individual Project.
Kay Brandt is the only female director nominated this year in this category and the line also is nominated in every girl/girl category.

The 2012 XBIZ Awards show, presented by MyFreeCams.com, is scheduled to take place Jan. 10.
