CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Girlfriends Films is donating $1,000 to the Best Friends Animal Society on behalf of popular lesbian erotica performer Jelena Jensen.
The monetary gift is the November selection for Girlfriend’s Films' monthly charity program. Past charities include Lambda Legal, NPR, Cancer Research Institute, and more. Jensen's choice is dedicated to ensuring a time when there are no longer homeless pets.
“Anyone who knows me, knows what a huge animal lover I am,” Jensen said. “I’m also a huge proponent of spaying and neutering pets, as well as adopting pets rather than buying bred animals. I own two giant breed rescue dogs, one of which is a special needs dog. His previous owners were told to put him down because ‘no one would take a 150 pound dog with known health problems.'
"Thankfully, they sought out a rescue that would take him without putting him down. A week later, I fell in love with him and took him home, huge medical costs and all. He almost missed out on a very loving and fulfilling life, but was thankfully given a chance.”
The adult star recently appeared in Girlfriends Films’ “Women Seeking Women 76,” “Women Seeking Women 69,” “Pin-Up Girls 6,” “Net Skirts 6.0,” “Lesbian Seductions 38,” “Imperfect Angels 10,” and Tammy Sands’ “All Natural: Glamour Solos.”
She is an avid supporter of the Society’s "No More Homeless Pets" campaign and its efforts to spay and neuter animals, as well as set up foster and adoption programs around the country.
“Girlfriends Films is by far my favorite company to work for,” Jensen added. “I've been shooting for them only a little over a year now, but they've proved themselves to be at the top of their game in many aspects. One of them is their commitment to helping others. They are in no way obligated to make monthly donations to charities, yet they do so because they choose to use their position to help."
Girlfriends Films is calling calls on its fans and followers to join Jensen in the prevention of homeless pets. Donations of all sizes may be made directly to Best Friends Animal Society.
