HONG KONG — Digital signage manufacturer GoodsWell is making its new LCD player with motion sensor available to adult retailers.
The seven-inch LCD player with motion sensor can sit on a shelf automatically turns on to display a product video when a shopper passes it by.
According to Stephen Lee of GoodsWell’s overseas department, the player replaces traditional DVD player displays with an all-in-one design that can help customers make buying decisions while they shop.
“This machine features its ease of operation and a promotion efficiency double that of conventional models produced by other material,” told XBIZ. “By integrating this revolutionary new machine into any retail store, shop, boutique or any public area, we feel sure sales volume can be substantially increased.”
Featuring 480 x 234 resolution, the remote controlled LCD display includes built-in Flash memory that can be loaded with new content in MPEG format through a plugin SD/USB. The unit’s automatic features can be customized to either automatically shut down when not in use or simply mute the video’s sound.
According to GoodsWell’s market research, 66 percent of all purchase decisions are made in the store and 53 percent of those in-store purchases are made on impulse; and with shoppers guided only by static in-store signage and their memories of past branding messages, customers are often on their own.
GoodsWell is offering single sample units starting at $85 for the standard seven-inch LCD player with motion sensor feating 2GB internal memory, and ranging to $149 for the “professional” version featuring 256MB internal memory, plus shipping.
