Google Reveals Details About New Programming Language

DENMARK — Google revealed details about Dart, its new web programming language designed to make programming and building web applications easier.

During a presentation at the GoTo Conference, two Google representatives introduced an early preview of Dart, which is now available for coders.

One of the features of Bart is that coders can choose to add static types to their code after they find the right structure for their program, PCMag.com reports.

Dart also emphasizes clear and readable syntax. Company representative Lars Bark wrote in a blog that some of Dart’s goals are to be a web programming language that’s structured yet flexible, familiar and natural to learn, which will deliver high performance on all modern web browsers, regardless of size.

"The language comes with a set of basic libraries and tools for checking, compiling, and running Dart code," which will evolve as other programmers send in their feedback,” Bak wrote. "We've made the language and preliminary tools available as open source on Dartlang.org."

He added that open-source allows people to contribute to advancing not just their own efforts, but an industry at large. "We really want to share the innovation," he told PCMag and, "make sure the whole industry gets better across the board. It's important for everybody that we keep innovating in the open."
