TORONTO — Porno Dan’s reality TV series "The Right Hand" will premiere on Thursday night on Canada’s The Movie Network and Movie Central, presenting what producers call "a docu-realist perspective" into the porn industry.
"The Right Hand" follows the misadventures of Brandon MacIntosh, a small-town Canadian and recent film school graduate. Exasperated with job hunting, he replies to a Craigslist ad and finds himself hired as Production Assistant for Chatsworth-based porn company Immoral Productions.
That's where MacIntosh meets Porno Dan Leal, the CEO of Immoral Productions who producers call "wacky, loud, fun, and unapologetic for his straightforward approach to shooting porn."
Leal gets MacIntosh acclimated to working in porn and hi-jinks ensue.
“You want to hate him, but you can’t help loving him,” executive producer Richard Arnold said of Porno Dan.
"The Right Hand" documents MacIntosh's awkward and exciting experiences as he braves the adult industry, travels the country, and gets intimate with porn star life.
The show's first season comprises 12 episodes at 30 minutes each. Supporting characters include up-and-comer Jessie Andrews, 18-year-old newbie Molly Rae, Immoral director/performer Ralph Long, and a colorful cast of porn stars, friends, and family members.
The show, produced by Toronto-based EWL Media, was created by Richard Arnold and director Matt Austin Sadowski.
It premieres at 12:30 a.m. (MST) Thursday on Movie Central and Saturday at 12:15 a.m. (EST) on The Movie Network.
