LAS VEGAS - Fulfilling consumers’ or one’s own specific needs when it comes to sensuality is the drive for several exhibitors at the International Lingerie Show.
When Party Panty Inc. owner Teresa Gielau went clubbing or to concerts, she was not a purse holder and the need to safeguard her vital purse items led to the designing of panties, thongs, bras and men’s underwear with a small pocket secured by a sturdy, discrete zipper - and thus the patent-pending Party Panty range was born.
Exhibiting at ILS for the first time, Party Panty’s Kelsey Kuhns told XBIZ that the company offers more than 40 styles.
“What’s also unique about this line is that each piece is named after a real person associated with the company - us, our friends and family - every one needs a Party Panty.”
As a vegan, bondage accessories designer Snow said he felt uncomfortable making leather goods and as if he were living a contradiction. Three years ago, he founded Vegan Boundary and is exhibiting the company’s range of products at ILS for the first time.
“There’s definitely a lack of vegan products in this market,” Snow said. “Our products are made from heavy duty nylon and are coated in vinyl. They’re strong, washable and sanitary.”
Holiday Products attends ILS with a new look that includes a booth that’s been expanded from 30 feet to 40 feet and a new location on the show floor. The booth’s stayed bustling throughout ILS with product demos from Holiday’s vendors, including We-Vibe and Venus BodyCare.
Holiday Products’ Diana Fitzgerald said that the booth is fully stocked with brand new products not even featured in the new Holiday Products catalog, including Pipedream’s new Fetish Fantasy Lingerie collection and LELO’s new Pico Bong line, which she says is already “flying off of the shelves.”
“The booth’s been crowded the whole time,” Fitzgerald said. “Manufacturers and buyers are all excited to be here and our team is here in full force.”
Classic Erotica debuted new packaging for its Coochy and Crazy Girl lines. “We made Crazy Girl more appealing to a younger demographic,” Classic Erotica’s Jane Liszewski said. “Most of these girls don’t want products that look like something their mother uses.”
Among the terms that are becoming obsolete is pheromone,Liszewski said, noting Crazy Girl’s packaging now refers to “sex attractant” that’s infused into many of the products. The back of the packaging goes on to explain how pheromones work.
XGen Products also debuted a new booth, alongside a range of new products such as Mini BodyWands in new colors, including limited edition red and black varieties, Peekaboo pasties and Vibe Station, a mount for the BodyWand.
“Our brand new booth is designed to show retailers what our products will look like on their walls,” XGen Vice President Andy Green said. “We have planograms and offer retailers signage, fixtures and lots of our artwork.”
