3 Gay Studios Win Injunction Against Tube Site Operators

OAKLAND, Calif. — Gay adult studios Corbin Fisher, Titan Media and Channel One Releasing have won a preliminary injunction against tube site operators Steven and David Compton and their GLBT Ltd. company in their long-running infringement suit.

The $29 million lawsuit took a turn in August when the studios filed a motion for terminating sanctions, claiming the defendants had destroyed evidence relevant to the case.

The three gay adult studios teamed up in the infringement suit against the Comptons for poached content on GLBT Ltd. domains JerkYourTube.com, GayForIt.com and ItsAllGay.com.

The studios filed for a preliminary injunction to stop the Compton’s from dispersing their assets. This week, a federal judge granted the studios' injunction and ordered that the GLBT Ltd. domains be put into receivership pending resolution of the suit.

"We caught them taking actions to move assets out of the U.S.," said Marc Randazza, general counsel for Corbin Fisher. "They clearly know that they are losing the case."

"Once again, it shows the power of content providers banding together to exterminate the piracy that ultimately harms not only the industry itself, but the people employed in the industry — from performers to programmers," Randazza added.

The tube site owners also were ordered to avoid any further actions that would dissipate their assets.

Jonathan Capp, an Oceanside, Calif.-based attorney who represents the Comptons through their GLBT Ltd. company told XBIZ he was unable to comment on the case at this time.
