SAN FRANCISCO — Good Vibrations presents an evening with Shine Louise Houston, founder of Pink & White Productions, on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at the SF LGBT Center as part of Good Vibrations’ sixth annual Indie Erotic Film Festival.
Pink & White Productions, award-winning porn production company founded and directed by Shine Louise Houston, produces sexy and exciting images that reflect today’s blurred gender lines and fluid sexualities, Good Vibes says.
“There is power in creating images, and for a woman of color and a queer to take that power, I don’t find it exploitative; I think it’s necessary,” Houston said.
Houston’s past projects (The Crash Pad, Superfreak, The Wild Search, CHAMPION: Love Hurts) and popular Crash Pad Series DVD volumes have been recognized by AVN Awards and the Feminist Porn Awards. Last year, Houston was honored 2010 Feminist Porn Awards “Trailblazer.”
The Sept. 21 event will feature a screening of Houston’s various film projects along with questions moderated by Good Vibrations’ staff sexologist Dr. Carol Queen. DVDs will be available at the event. Following the screening, a celebration of Houston and Pink & White Productions will be held at Lexington Club.
Good Vibrations presents five nights of screenings at venues throughout San Francisco as part of its sixth annual Indie Erotic Film Festival from Sept. 17–22. The lineup of thematic screenings, panels and features will lead up to the shorts competition at the Castro Theatre, IXFF.
Sponsors for IXFF include: Toyfriend, Fun Factory, LELO, XBIZ, Jimmyjane, Vixen Creations, Doc Johnson, SF Bay Guardian, East Bay Express, Bay Area Reporter, Curve Magazine, Me Bath & Body, Leather etc., Eros, Twin Peaks Tavern, Lexington Club, SF Mix Bar, The Sausage Factory, Sliquid, Sir Richards, Evolution Fresh Juice, Hot Cookie, Del Arco Tequila, Dark Garden, St. George Spirits, Digital Playground, and Good Vibrations' sister company, the award-winning video producers Good Releasing.
