An already proven payment system, DirectPay EU is used by more than 200 million EU bank account holders for transferring funds over the Internet.
Epassporte cardholders will now be able to move funds from their European bank accounts to their ePassporte accounts using the bank transfer system, ePassporte CEO Mallick said. And since the transaction is initiated and carried out by the account holder, there is no risk of chargebacks.
The DirectPay EU system was originally created as a solution for web merchants selling online products and services.
“DirectPay EU simplifies loading for our cardholders in the European Union,” Mallick said. “Adding Direct Pay EU brings real value because it incorporates a secure, well-known system that is preferred by Europeans.”
DirectPay EU works with online banking systems throughout 14 European countries including Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Denmark, Ireland, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Finland, Sweden and the U.K.
“Having DirectPay EU available for loading ePassporte accounts helps merchants sell to millions of consumers who prefer alternative payment options when buying over the Internet,” Wolf Kring, CEO of 2000Charge, said.
