LOS ANGELES — ElmAveShow.com, a website show that features the perspectives of adult industry professionals, interviewed Wasteland.com CEO Colin Rowntree.
Rowntree talked about a variety of topics from how Wasteland.com was developed, how he learned HTML, to the creation of his mail order catalog and all of the challenges he faced while he was trying to build his website.
Rowntree also talked about how he was able to triple his sales by increasing the membership price because he realized that people would be willing to pay for exclusivity.
Rowntree said sales exploded when he began doing original material with fresh talent. Another challenge was the lack of a secure template or platform where consumers could use credit cards.
From the lessons he’s learned, Rowntree advises other webmasters to find a subject or niche they are passionate about so they can enjoy whatever they do.
