FAME Awards to Debut at Erotica LA

LOS ANGELES — Fresh on the heels of the XRCO and FOXE awards, the adult industry soon will have another awards show to add to the list, albeit one that show organizers promise will have a fresh twist.

What makes the Fans of Adult Media & Entertainment (FAME) awards different, they say, is that it will be the first “truly interactive awards event ever,” meaning that awards for both movies and performers will be determined exclusively by fan voting.

Scheduled to take place Saturday, June 24, in conjunction with Erotica LA at the LA Convention Center, the FAME Awards are being sponsored jointly by Adam & Eve, Genesis Magazine, Wanted List and AVN.

“Adam & Eve is sponsoring these awards in order to give the fans of adult movies and entertainment a real voice to tell the industry what they like best,” Bob Christian, Adam & Eve vice president, said. “Other awards use industry insiders to determine winners — FAME listens to the real consumers and users of the products.”

Dan Davis, editor-in-chief of Genesis, added, “While there are numerous other award shows in adult businesses, we wanted to create one where the true critics — the fans — could pick their favorites in the categories that matter most to them. The fans will be the ones prenominating the performers and movies, choosing the finalists and ultimately naming the winners.”

Fans above the age of 18 can vote for their favorites at TheFameAwards.com between now and March 15. The finalists in each category will be announced shortly thereafter based on the prenomination results. Voting for winners will continue until June 23.

Hosts for the FAME Awards show will be announced in the coming weeks.
