The show, slated for delivery via mobile devices during the first quarter of this year, is titled “Samurai Love God,” and will feature Jameson as a “sex-crazed inhabitant of a strange and erotic land,” Viacom announced.
Ed Helms of “The Daily Show” will also have a speaking part in the series.
“Samurai Love God” is the first animated mobile project the cable giant has so far embarked on, a company spokesperson said Thursday. The series has eight 2-minute episodes and will make its debut on Verizon, Sprint Nextel and Amp’d.
The animated series follows in the footsteps of Comedy Central’s first foray into the mobile sector through launch of its broadband video clip service, MotherLoad, and is part of Viacom’s strategy to focus on digital content delivery for mobile and Internet consumers.
Viacom said the “Samurai Love” series will only be available to subscribers of the carriers' standard video service.
