TORONTO — PinkCherry Adult Toys said it is losing more than $1,000 a day in shipping costs as a result of the Canada Post Strike.
“At a time where the economy is still on shaky ground, businesses in Canada should not have to absorb further stress,” CEO Dan Freedman said.
According to the company, the Canada Post strike had a profound impact on online retail and wholesale businesses that rely on shipping of packages as the mainstay of their business.
PinkCherry said it was one of the first online retailers to switch its free shipping method to UPS to ensure consumers would not be impacted by the strike.
PinkCherry Adult Toys opened its e-commerce site more than three years ago and in June 2009 opened its wholesale site. More than 5,000 products are stocked in its 25,000 sq. ft. warehouse.
