LOS ANGELES — Allie Haze, signed last week to an exclusive contract as the newest Vivid Girl by Vivid Entertainment, is in France for the 64th annual Cannes Film Festival and was the subject of stories this week in the French news including magazine Le Nouvel Observateur and adult magazine Hot Video.
They reported that the 23-year-old Californian has been chosen "by producer Alain Siritzky to play the role of Emmanuelle in a new series of nine films."
According to Le Nouvel Observateur, "she succeeds Marcela Walerstein and...Syliva Kristel, the 'first' on-screen Emmanuelle," in a series that began some 40 years ago.
The magazine adds, "filmed in 3D in 2010, the new series of films is being been promoted at Cannes. The little flirt doesn't perform under her porn-name (Allie Haze), but rather under her 'mainstream' screen name: Brittany Joy. Meanwhile, porn film studio Vivid has signed Allie Haze to an exclusive contract."
In addition to being named a Vivid Girl, the 5-foot-7 brunette recently won the honor of Best New Starlet by XRCO, the X-Rated Critics Organization, in a tie with Chanel Preston. Her selection as Emmanuelle comes after Siritzky, who was producer and executive producer of the earliest films in the series, went on a worldwide search for an actress to star in the new nine-film series.
Media reports indicate that the "new" Emmanuelle retains the trademark eroticism of the coming-of-age series, but is designed to appeal to younger audience as it tells the fanciful story of a young woman's journey into adulthood. The series was be shot in 3D and, according to Siritzky, includes an appearance by a 700-foot long state-of-art blimp that promotes a green lifestyle as it travels the world from New York to Rio to Vietnam and finally to Paris.
Siritzky has said of his new series, "There is a need for a responsible and honest film that addresses many relevant topics that young adults as well as mature adults are faced with of late. It may surprise some that Emmanuelle is the modern messenger of such important issue. Though much has changed from when the original was released, the foundation of Emmanuelle has not...which is that Emmanuelle is more than a character or a novel or film. Emmanuelle is a way of life that celebrates women. It is beautiful, stylish, feminine, thought-provoking and powerful, as all women are created. This message is one that is important now more than ever to instill in women everywhere and of all ages."
