Based in Seattle, wContent will begin mobilizing Private in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Brunei. Jeff Upthegrove, president and COO at the company, said content offered for mobile users in these areas would include video, chat services, wallpaper, ringtones and erotic games.
“The extraordinary quality and diversity of Private's adult entertainment offering is an absolutely perfect fit for the unique demands of the Asian mobile content market,” Upthegrove said. “We are very excited to have the opportunity to bring such a premium brand into such an exciting and explosive new market.”
The last year has marked considerable overseas expansion for Private, which went live with 11 wireless operators in Europe last year.
“Following this successful rollout in Europe, today's agreement with wContent for Asia marks another milestone in our growing mobile content business,” Berth Milton, CEO of Private, said.
Though many adult producers are still undecided as to the impact of wireless technology on the adult industry, Private clearly is not. On top of the recent Asia deal, Milton said the company also is set to launch 11 additional deals with new mobile operators in Europe during the first quarter of 2006.
“Wireless has proven to be a growth driver for the media industry,” Tim Clausen, Director of Wireless Technologies at Private, said. “Our ability to successfully harness this potential, in the world's principle mobile content market, will certainly add to the substantial returns we expect from this business line going forward.”
