Rather than market the items, however, Blatt said the investors want to use the locker to “get Paris’ attention” on a Hilton-branded casino they want to build in Europe.
As reported earlier by XBiz, sex tape hound David Hans Schmidt offered up the contents of the Hilton locker for $20 million Friday, claiming it contained photographs, videotapes, diaries and many “dark secrets” of the hotel heiress.
After Blatt failed to hook his investors up with Hilton, he said he decided the contents of the locker might convince the star to talk with them.
“They want to pitch her brand name with the casino,” Blatt told XBiz. “So right now I’m just sitting here with bated breath, waiting for attorneys and ‘Inside Edition’ to call me.”
Blatt said he spoke with Schmidt this morning about the deal and that plans to buy the locker’s contents were “progressing.” Everything, he said, is contingent on what exactly is in the locker and how Hilton responds to the request.
Whether or not Blatt will try and market the contents if Hilton refuses involvement in the casino deal remains to be seen.
“I don’t really know the legalities of all this and I’m still waiting to hear back from my attorney,” Blatt said. “Right now this is a case of how badly she wants these things back. Obviously we have her attention.”
Blatt said that Schmidt assured him all of the items were obtained legally after Hilton failed to pay the monthly fee for her storage locker.
“If you don’t pay your storage fees, they are fully entitled to sell the contents of the locker,” Blatt said.
