TLA and COLT will present 15 titles from the COLT and Buckshot libraries, including legendary pre-condom titles that have long been out of print and unavailable to consumers.
TLA On-Demand also will offer COLT and Buckshot’s titles on all three standard video streaming formats — pay-per-minute, streaming rentals or full film downloads — marking an Internet first for the studios. According to TLA executives, no other site offers all three options for COLT Studio Group titles.
“We are totally thrilled that COLT Studio Group has joined up with TLA On-Demand,” TLA Managing Editor Erik Schut said. “John Rutherford and his team have taken the studio and vaulted it into the new millennium.”
The titles will showcase some of the most popular content from COLT Studio and Buckshot Productions during the early 1980s to the early 2000s. Included are “Private Party,” “Minute Man 4-7,” “The Company We Keep,” “Good Hot Stuff” and “Triple Treat,” featuring various actors including Frank Vickers, Jesse Ditmar, Ed Dinakos, Bruno and Jimmy Pike.
Starting off with 15 titles from the studio’s Golden Age is like icing on the cake — a ‘classic taste,’” Schut added. “Making them available via all three formats is unprecedented and I’m certain customers are going to be ecstatic.”
Launched in spring 2005, TLA On-Demand has grown dramatically in less than a year, garnering an XBix Award nomination for video-on-demand after only six months of operation.
“Erik and the entire team at TLA have been very supportive to all of us here at COLT Studio Group,” John Rutherford, COLT Studio Group president and creative director, said. “It was only natural COLT would be partnered with [the TLA team].”
