Apple has not explicitly confirmed that the iPad 2 will be unveiled at the event, nor when the device would be available. But the announcement would come about a year after it released the original iPad.
It is believed the device will be narrower than the first iPad and feature a front-facing camera that will have FaceTime support. It is supposed to weigh less than the original iPad, which is 1.5-pounds, and include a souped-up processor and more RAM.
