Sex Survey Reveals Kinky Tastes

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — A recent online survey undertaken by PleasureMeNow.com has revealed new information about sex toys in the bedroom, including that a majority of men and women would “love” to receive a sex toy as a gift.

The survey revealed that 74 percent of women and men would “love” to receive a sex toy as a gift and another 26 percent said receiving a sex toy “sounded fun.” According to the survey results, no one who took the survey found the idea of receiving a sex toy objectionable.

The survey also established that of those participating in the survey, 24 percent own one or two sex toys; 56 percent own three to six sex toys; 11 percent own “gobs” of sex toys; and 9 percent don’t own any sex toys.

“We were surprised by several of the results,” PleasureMeNow partner Ron Jacks said. “One result that amazed us – even though our survey was taken on our adult toy website – was that everyone found a sex toy as an appealing gift.”

Six hundred eighteen people participated in the survey. Ten percent of women surveyed and 7 percent of men surveyed described themselves as bisexual. Four percent of men and women surveyed indicated they are gay.

Jacks said he found other results surprising, including results that showed 16 percent of straight men who participated in the survey indicated their favorite sex toy activity is using a vibrator on their female lover. Seven percent also said they prefer glass dildos to plastic dildos.

Regarding the question “What is your favorite sex toy?” respondents were asked to “fill in the blank” as their response. Twenty percent indicated “other” or “none yet” as their favorite sex toy; 17 percent tapped the Rabbit Vibrator; 11 percent named glass dildos; and 10 percent indicated any vibrator as their favorite sex toy.

Other toys named as favorites during the survey included sex swings, strap-on dildos, bullet vibrators, cock rings and vibrating cock rings, anal plugs and beads and cyberskin sex toys. Eight percent also indicated that they “love all sex toys” equally.
