“Our 2011 Costume Collection opened to excellent response among our customers.” Dreamgirl International CEO Christopher Scharff said. “The product offering is even larger than last year, including new innovations such as Sound & Motion Interactive Costumes, special merchandised companion costumes and the expansion of our range of Couples Costumes.”
The Sound & Motion Interactive Costumes feature color light-up panels on the front of the costume that responds to voice, music or movement. Costumes include Lust in Space and couples’ costume Robot A Bing and Robot A Boom.
For its new Companion Costumes, Dreamgirl has developed new takes on classic themes. “Not everyone can be Dorothy but now you can get all the girls to dress up as each character from your favorite stories,” the company said in a press release. “Companion Costumes promise to be one of the biggest trends for 2011. The concept was inspired by Anime Character Teams that compete at conventions around the country.”
Dreamgirl’s new Light-Up Costumes feature LED lights on the necklines as well as accents. Additional innovations Dreamgirl has added to its costume collection includes more Quick Change 2-in-1 Costumes, Reversibles, as well as features like removable push-up pads, adjustable hem lengths and convertible costumes with removable mid-sections.
Dreamgirl also has new Special Value-priced Costumes that retail for $39.99 or less, and an expanded collection of plus-size items, spanning more than 80 styles, accessories and hosiery.
The company also has expanded its costume accessories offerings with more wigs, including the rainbow light-up flip with bangs, as well as tutus and petticoats.
For retailers, Dreamgirl has added five wall posters “to add excitement and interest to any retail environment.”
