ASACP Gears Up for XBIZ LA

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced its plans for attending the upcoming XBIZ LA event Feb. 7-9 at the Sofitel Hotel.

XBIZ LA is a three-day trade event that explores and uncovers the impact of digital media and e-commerce technologies on the rapidly-evolving online adult entertainment industry. Highlighted by the annual XBIZ Awards honoring adult industry excellence and followed this year by the new XBIZ Retail Expo, professionals from around the globe attend XBIZ LA to gain unparalleled insight on the current state and future of the online adult industry.

ASACP CEO Joan Irvine will lead the association’s presence at the event, where she will be accompanied by CTO Tim Henning; Membership Manager Dawn Yagielowicz; and Operations Manager Erege Cohen — who will all be available to spread the news about the association’s ongoing efforts to keep children away from age-restricted materials.

“XBIZ LA is an important adult industry event at which ASACP has always attended,” Irvine said. “Being able to educate and inform industry leaders about the association’s advocacy and child protection efforts, as well as provide ways in which the industry can become involved in our mission, is vital for our growth and member outreach.”

“For example,” Irvine added, “Sponsors, members and donors provide direct financial support to ASACP, so all website owners can make use of the Restricted To Adults (RTA) website filtering label, which was developed by ASACP through the generosity of its supporters.”

As part of ASACP’s XBIZ LA participation, Irvine will appear on Feb. 9, at 11 a.m., at the new “Meet the Heads of State” event, where attendees will be able to interact with the adult industry’s movers and shakers. In addition, the ASACP Foundation will host a table on Feb. 8, with fund-raising in support of World Safer Internet Day.

ASACP is also exhibiting at the attendee’s mix and meet; and will have an advertisement in the show guide along with flyers in the show’s gift bags — allowing it to leverage its physical presence at Hollywood’s premiere adult industry gathering.

Founded in 1996, ASACP is a non-profit organization dedicated to online child protection. ASACP battles child pornography through its CP Reporting Hotline and helps parents prevent children from viewing age-restricted material online with its Restricted To Adults (RTA) Website Label (www.rtalabel.org). ASACP is the only association in the world that coordinates the adult entertainment industry’s efforts to protect children online. It has spent more than 14 years creating progressive programs to protect children and its relationship in! assisting the adult industry’s child protection efforts is unparalleled.
