Girlfriend Films Announces Charity Drive Donations

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Girlfriends Films announced today it has made $15,000 in charitable donations in performers’ names in its annual charitable gifting program.

The company said that since 2006 it has selected 15 of its models and crew members to choose a non-profit organization to receive a donation.

In 2010 it sent 15, $1,000 donations to selected organizations plus additional corporate donations totaling thousands more.

The only requirement was the charity has a “B-plus” rating or better by the American Institute of Philanthropy.

“With the continued growth of Girlfriends Films, we are in a privileged position to tithe and feel we would be remiss if we didn't," said Moose, Girlfriends Films vice president.

"Donating in the stars names is our way of honoring the amazing performers who dedicate so much of their time to our studio and productions. We hope our actions will inspire other companies to look beyond the profit margin, see the wider world around us, and know that we have the ability to create positive change.”

Some of the performers selected to participate in the charity program included Prinzzess, India Summer, Dana DeArmond, Tanya Tate, Elexis Monroe, Magdalene St. Michaels, Brenda James, Zoe Britton, Julia Ann, Celeste Star, Deauxma and Cindy, as well as camera operator Candi-Girl and director Melissa Monet.

Dana DeArmond said, “I have to give my undying love and respect to Girlfriends Films for letting their performers take part in charitable contributions, setting the highest standards in business practices for adult and the common good of the general public. Hopefully other companies will take notice and follow suit, as girlfriends is setting the bar very high, as well they should.”

The star added, “The charity I've chosen is Doctors Without Borders. This organization not only helps to bring health care to third world and war-torn countries, but it also calls attention to the conditions within these conflicted nations through their connection to journalists worldwide. I wholeheartedly believe in this organization and it might be worth pointing out, they won a Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts in 1999.”

British star Tanya Tate chose the Cancer Research Institute and said, “We have all had to say goodbye to people we love. It’s part of life and something we all will eventually have to deal with. Coping is hard enough when it’s natural causes, but when it’s a disease like cancer, it’s devastating. Millions of people are affected; many will have their lives savagely curtailed. But, it is within the realm of possibility that this disease will be overcome, once and for all.”

Some other charities included Breast Cancer Research, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Child Find of America, Home for Our Troops, Animal Welfare Institute, Boys and Girls Clubs of America and more.

Details on models selected, their charities and their personal statements are available here.
