According to reports, some neighbors feel that FUK U is an inappropriate name, particularly for a store located near an elementary and high school, and are asking for its signage to be removed.
"Just because it's not spelled the same it still means the same thing," a Melrose shopper told KTLA News in a report.
Store owners are staying mum on the controversy until FUK U’s official opening, the report said.
Melrose Avenue is currently the home to a handful of high-end erotic boutiques, including Coco De Mer, Kiki De Montparnasse and Agent Provacateur.
