In partnership with TradingMarkets.com, an information site for investors and money managers, the TradingMarkets.com/Playboy 2006 Stock-Picking Contest made its official launch this month as the Playboy models each picked their five favorite stocks for 2006.
The contest will run until Dec. 31.
"Clearly, with the stock selections, the Playboy models made some great choices and it will be exciting to see which model picked the best portfolio and how they stack up against the experts,” Michael Sprouse, senior vice president of marketing for the Playboy Entertainment Group, said.
The model with the best performing portfolio for the year will be crowned the winner. Each Playboy model is playing for a charity, and at the end of the contest, TradingMarkets.com will donate $50,000 to the winner's charity of choice.
Playboy stock, which trades under the ticker PLA, cannot be selected by the models. Stocks that are currently in the running, as chosen by the models, are Advanced Micro Devices, Amgen, Anheuser Busch, Apple Computer, Bank of America, Bebe, Bidu.com, Bluefly, Boeing, Boyd Gaming, the Cheesecake Factory, Chico's FAS, CVS, Dell, Disney, Dril Quip, Google, Hauppauge Digital, Hydril, IBM, Indevus Pharmaceuticals, Law Enforcement Associates, Microsoft and Nike.
