Axel Braun's Attorneys Focus on New BitTorrent Strategy

LOS ANGELES — Axel Braun Productions’ legal team is focusing on a new strategy after dropping the last remaining John Doe defendant in its BitTorrent suit against 7,097 does who allegedly poached “Batman XXX: A Porn Parody.”

Braun’s legal team dropped the last defendant in its West Virgina lawsuit and is now moving full speed ahead with a new legal tactic.

Braun’s attorney Kenneth Ford, who is also now working with law firm Dunlap, Grubb and Weaver, said the fight will go on with new John Doe suits filed in the jurisdictions of the defendants.

“New lawsuits have been initiated in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia by our local counsel,” Ford told XBIZ. “Axel Braun Productions is among the plaintiffs.”

The law firm’s co-founder Thomas Dunlap told CNET the firm plans to recruit attorneys from different regions so it can more easily file suit against file-swappers in various jurisdictions.

Last month, a federal judge quashed subpoena requests targeting all but one Doe defendant from Braun’s suit.

Braun told XBIZ that he will pursue any file sharers who steal his content.

“I will not let people steal from me,” he said.

Braun was unavailable for additional comments by post time.
