The ANME Founders, California Exotic Novelties, Doc Johnson, Novelties by Nasswalk, Pipedream Products and Topco Sales, agreed that the show was a major success.
“The ANME Show in Burbank is another a huge success,” said Scott Tucker, Topco Sales president and CEO. “The venue’s location and proximity to the Burbank airport is convenient and the Marriot staff is very professional and helpful. The food they serve is top-notch. Val Jones once again did an excellent job managing the set-up of the show and I high commend her for a job well done. I also know that the attendees appreciate having an environment dedicated strictly to the novelty industry. It gives all of us the ability to get down to business without a lot of distractions. Topco Sales is able to provide outstanding customer service and show off our Winter Release in style. We thank everyone for stopping by and hope you enjoy our new selections for 2011.”
Doc Johnson said that the company’s latest releases, such as the high-end, mainstream-friendly Mood line and Rock Star Vibe, garnered a great response because of Doc Johnson’s modern, forward-thinking designs.
“This year’s ANME Founders Show was our best yet. It’s become increasingly apparent that this is the show people can’t wait to get to each year,” said Chad Braverman, Doc Johnson’s Director of Product Development and Licensing. “Customer response was phenomenal for our redesigned catalog as well as many of our new items – especially for the innovative iRide. Showcasing our latest and greatest product to the masses is a great way kick off the year while enjoying the fruits of our labor. We put a lot of hard work into this show and it’s extremely gratifying to consistently receive such a strong outpouring of interest in our products.”
Kathryn Hartman, sales and marketing director for Nasstoys, also used the word “amazing” in her recap of ANME.
“The energy throughout the show reflected an optimism for the economy in our industry for the coming year, and the attendees were all real qualified buyers,” she said. “We at Nasstoys can't be more pleased with the success of our best product launch yet. And as usual, it’s just a pleasure to be among ‘our people.’ This industry rules. We are all friends and colleagues, and there was lots of love on the show floor. What's better than that? And the food was amazing. Thanks to Val and her team for putting together the absolute best show they’ve done yet!”
CalExotics debuted more than 250 new items at its ANME booth and had one of the busiest booths at the show. CalExotics' Director of Marketing Al Bloom said that appointments to stop by were made well in advance of the show, and the total business-to-business atmosphere led to record sales for the company.
Every visitor received a full demonstration of every new item, as well as a concrete release schedule of those items over the next six months.
"The just concluded ANME Show was a huge success for California Exotic Novelties," Bloom said. "The range and depth of new items we presented covered every price point, and every feature that our customers have told us they need to grow their novelty business. California Exotic Novelties spends millions of dollars annually visiting our customers, as well as key retailers all over the world. The feedback we receive is documented, and shared with our New Product Development Team. The result(s) are the production of items that visitors to our booth tell us are in demand, and thank us for giving them items that are not only innovative, but priced right for fast sales.
"This show gave us the opportunity also to demonstrate our online capabilities for order processing. We also introduced the latest 101 product demo videos, bringing our total to 512 MPEG 4 demos available for online use, as well as looped versions for in-store play."
CalExotics is already making plans for the July ANME Show, and said it looks forward to seeing everyone there.
In a press release, Pipedream Products CEO Nick Orlandino said it took a scaled-back approach with the number of offerings it showcased that proved to be a successful move.
“Even with less SKUs in our booth, we wrote more orders by the end of day one than we did for both days at the July show,” Orlandino said. “Simply put, those who are in the adult toy business cannot afford to skip exhibiting at ANME this summer!”
Additionally, Empowered Products, which showcased its latest product, Pink Indulgence cream lube, featuring “just a touch” of silicone for a slick feel that non-staining, also said ANME was a success.
“It was a really good show for us,” Empowered Product’s Mason Nance said. “There was an excellent turnout and we look forward to returning in the summer.”
Shunga also returned to the latest edition of ANME with its newest release, a delay spray for men with premature ejaculation issues.
“It was a wonderful show,” said Angela Mustone, Shunga’s director of business development. “As in the past, it was wonderful to attend. The Founders put on another great show — as always.”
