Porn Guardian Earns XBIZ Nomination

NEW YORK — PornGuardian.com, a leading anti-piracy service for the adult industry, is the first of its kind to be nominated for the XBIZ "Innovative Web Product of the Year" award.

In just four months, Porn Guardian has signed some of the biggest names in the adult industry as it fights against Internet Piracy. Through its IndustryProtection Initiative, Porn Guardian has successfully shut down two major piracy blogs that were actively promoting illegal file sharing.

Beyond making sure its clients' content is scrubbed from illegal trading sites, Porn Guardian is dedicated to helping the adult industry at large. To this end, the company waged war on several popular blogs over the last month. Some are aware that PornGuardian is behind their fleecing, and some aren't. Already, two of these blogs have had to close their doors when they lost access to "their content."

Partner Dominic Ford said, "These blogs will surely rebuild, but it's much easier for us (and for the industry at large) to remove new content, when there is no old content still on offer. Some sites have thousands of pages of illegal content that has been up for years. Doing a clean sweep makes it a lot easier to patrol them for new postings. We have been given permission by companies who are not our clients to act on their behalf for these fleecings.

"In many cases, these companies are already being protected by another anti-piracy service, but we are finding some of their files that have been live for months or even longer. It is in the best interest of the entire adult industry that these trading sites are brought to their knees."

Partner Peter Phinney, who said his company was "overjoyed" with its nomination, added, "We offer the industry's best reporting and client interface, we're very proud of what we do and we're deeply honored that XBIZ saw fit to nominate us in our first year of operation."

This year Porn Guardian will be releasing a new suite of tools that will allow content publishers to actually know what members are pirating their content. Ford said, "We are beta testing this service currently, and have already caught several of the pirates who have been uploading material for over a year from two of our clients. One of our clients had no content illegally traded last week because they have shut down the people who were pirating their content. This was the first time in two years their new scene couldn't be found somewhere on the internet for free."
