AEBN spokeswoman Kristina Krueger told XBiz that contract happened spontaneously, after E-Station executives, who were in the U.S. conducting business, asked to visit AEBN’s facilities in order to gather further information about the video-on-demand company.
E-Station owns three satellite television stations in Japan, where it airs adult content from more than 55 studios. The company, which began operations 12 years ago by partnering with studios, also produces its own content.
“Basically we stream any content they send to us,” Krueger told XBiz, adding that E-Station’s new VOD affiliation with AEBN will offer a new kind of content for subscribers. “We’ve been doing a lot of business in Japan recently – partnering with a lot of studios, signing a lot of contracts.”
E-Station Executive Chief Producer Takahiro Okano said the partnership will allow the company to continue producing new content, as its become increasingly difficult to do so in the U.S. due to the 2257 regulations, which has caused a near hiatus in Japanese porn.
However, due to the restrictions on showing genitals in Japan, producing certain types of content can prove just as difficult. But Okano said E-Station is getting around those restrictions by heightening the kink factor.
“As the showing of genitals is banned in Japan, the kinkier the content we can come up with, the better,” Okano said. “Videos will involve squirting, use of squids or eels, and surgical procedures.”
“It has been very difficult to get certain types of content,” Krueger added. “But we’re making leaps and bounds over there – we just keep expanding.”
In addition to its agreement with AEBN, E-Station also has partnered with a Hentai producing studio, which has become increasingly popular in the U.S. Krueger added that E-Station has already begun sending AEBN titles for streaming and that the agreement between E-Station and AEBN also will provide content for other endeavors.
