Department spokesman Al Lundeen told the Los Angeles Times that AIM officials applied for a license in June after they were told they needed one to continue operating.
AIM was notified about the decision late Tuesday. "Our staff will be in contact to discuss [the] next steps," said Lundeen, who noted that as of Wednesday the clinic remained open.
The denial came on the heels of HIV-positive adult film performer, Derrick Burts’ blast of AIM yesterday calling for mandatory condom use.
No details were available concerning the state’s decision.
XBIZ will continue to report details as they happen.
