In addition to starring in the movie, Banks also produced it through her company That’s Common Productions, which is a sponsor for the event. The festival is scheduled for Thursday through Sunday at the Pocono Manor in Tannersville, Pa.
“I am very serious about making indie films and am pleased to be a part of this event — it’s one of the best film festivals out there,” Banxxx said. “You won’t find me under Nyomi Banxxx, though. I use my real name, Amanda Dee.”
The Chicago native began her career in entertainment as a member of Sony Entertainment’s R&B girl group, Carmen Jones, before she became a runway model who worked in fashion shows and appeared in magazines all over the world. She also was a Ring Girl for EA Sports "Fight Night" video game.
The versatile Banxxx has her own her record label, FBC Records, and also designs her own clothing line called A.K.I.S.S. She is working on a calendar for 2011.
Banxxx's most recent movies include Wicked Pictures' "Speed," Zero Tolerance’s "Official Friday Parody," and Alexander DeVoe’s "Dynamic Booty #6."
