Event organizer Alexandre, who provides international business development for Wister, was more than content with the inaugural networking XBIZ.net Paris Gathering.
“The strikes made it hard but we did it,” Alexandre said. “We had interesting people and good networking.”
The majority of attendees specialized in the Internet and mobile side of the adult business, coming mainly from Paris and London, with representatives from billing companies, content providers and mobile affiliate programs and webmasters in participation.
Among the companies that were represented at the Paris Gathering were mobile affiliate program Wister, billing company Bango, content provider Colmax, and Glu, a video game company.
Overall, Alexandre said attendees were pleased with the inaugural event and appreciated the opportunity to unite with colleagues in an area that has few networking gatherings.
“I think it was good integrating networking in France where people are not very used to it,” Alexandre said. “There are some [trade shows] but they’re more promotional and not networking-focused.”
TontonRimka, webmaster for French reality porn site VinceBanderos.com, said he intended to attend the event, but unfortunately was prevented by the protests. Echoing Alexandre’s opinion on the lack of French B2B networking opportunities, he said that he was looking forward to the Paris Gathering because it serves to bring together the French adult market.
“The French market is very hard since piracy, and free content on the web,” TontonRimka said. “We have same problems like the U.S. and Europe. The French market is very difficult to evaluate.”
According to Alexandre, French adult professionals can rest assured that they’ll have an opportunity to strengthen French’s adult business with a second XBIZ.net Paris Gathering to be held within two months.
More information on the upcoming XBIZ.net Paris Gathering will be available in a dedicated XBIZ.net thread.
