DDD, also known as Dynamic Digital Depth, has enabled 3D viewing without glasses, and the company has partnered with Digital Playground to screen clips of “Pirates” in 3D at AEE.
“Since the AEE Show is held at the same time as the Consumer Electronics Show, it provides an ideal opportunity for us to demonstrate consumer response to a wide range of 3D products to our customers in the consumer electronics industry,” DDD CEO Chris Yewdall said.
Visitors to the AEE at Sands Expo Center are able to see a full range of 3D displays, including 80” projection screens, 40” and 30” 3D LCD TVs and 17” PC, as well as second-generation 2.2” mobile phone displays.
DDD’s set-top box, Vision+, converts most popular consumer video formats to 3D as they are watched, allowing broadcast and DVD content to be presented in 3D.
Digital Playground founder Ali Joone said that he was impressed when he first saw DDD’s efforts.
“The 3D effect enhances our content and allows the viewer to feel like they're part of the experience,” Joone said. “It's the next frontier in interactive adult entertainment.”
