Adam & Eve Survey: Most Americans Use the Internet for Sex Info

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — The Internet is the top source for questions about sex for more than 70 percent of Americans, according to a recent Adam & Eve survey.

The company’s web-based “Great American Sex Survey” found that people check the web for sex answers before asking a friend, going to the library or asking their doctors.

This month’s results were culled from more than 1,000 respondents who were allowed to select more than one answer.

After the Internet, 23 percent of the respondents chose books as their source for sex info, 20 percent chose men’s magazines followed by 18 percent for women’s magazines and 17 percent said “other,” Adam & Eve reported.

Resident Adam & Eve “sexpert” Dr. Kat Van Kirk sees this trend as positive.

“Never before has there been mass access to sex information in such an anonymous way. People can feel comfortable getting educated about sexuality in the comfort of their own home. Luckily, there are many reputable websites available for sex information,” Van Kirk said.

The company’s marketing director, Chad Davis agreed and said, “The internet can be a valuable tool for gaining all types of knowledge. We encourage adults to consider Adam&Eve.com as their source for all types of sexual information."

He added, "Our site has pertinent information on every product category to help consumers decide what product is best for them.”
