The company has merged its international magazine division, Metro Publications, with its newsstand division, Traffik Media Group, which produces hardcore content magazines for the consumer market. The new division will be called Traffik/Metro Media.
Bruno Hazen, vice president of Traffik/Metro Media, told XBiz that DVD Buzz will replace Mixxxed Media Magazine, a free publication Metro distributed to a limited consumer base through its affiliated retail establishments.
While DVD Buzz also will be free to consumers, Hazen said it will cover a wider range of companies than Mixxxed Media and have a larger circulation.
With an initial print run of about 180,000, the monthly review guide will cover the adult entertainment industry with a focus on adult stars, photo layouts, events and happenings, novelties and information on DVDs.
The magazine will be directly distributed on newsstands and in bookstores in the U.S. and Canada beginning in May 2006 through Curtis International Distributors.
