Dead Moon follows a heroine named Lucine, who was inspired by and is based on the personality and likeness of Nova, a touring feature dancer, print model and mainstream actress who last appeared in Rob Zombie's "Halloween 2" in 2009.
"This project has been my baby for almost a year now," Nova told XBIZ. "It should be a very fun journey."
The character Lucine is a gun-running assassin for the Armenian Underground who grapples with a life-altering illness. When she finally gets her sickness under control, she awakens one morning to find herself in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.
How Lucine battles and becomes one with her undead foes is what Angry Art Press hopes will entice genre fans that are looking "for a more hands-on, feral approach vs. only a strict 'shoot ‘em in the head' strategy.'"
R.A. Dowaliby Jr. created and wrote Dead Moon. The co-writing credits include Jason Craig ("Freddy vs. Jason") and Tom Towles ("House of 1,000 Corpses," "Henry:Portrait Of A Serial Killer"). The visual team includes Craig on layout, pencils by Craig Marier and colors by Chris Summers (World of Dungeons & Dragons) and Sixx Shooter Studios, which has worked on numerous adult and mainstream magazines.
“Dead Moon” is currently in re-writes and is set for distribution later this year.
