AEBN Launches Ad Campaign for MovieMonster

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — AEBN has rolled out a monster advertising campaign to support its new Internet video-on-demand service that offers more than 40,000 adult movies.

AEBN’s campaign for MovieMonster.com employs a 30-second tongue-in-cheek commercial that features adult star Amber Lynn using a strawberry to tease male adult star Randy West. Viewers are encouraged to log on to MovieMonster.tv to retrieve a free 30- minute trial.

The commercial will air 10-12 times a night during the midnight-5 a.m. timeslot in each of the test markets.

“The time period is great for us because of the sexy nature of the commercial and also because this is a heavy late-night viewing period that’s ideal to reach our customers,” AEBN’s newly appointed executive vice president, Harvey Kaplan, said.

“We chose the holiday period for our first test because it’s a heavy TV viewing time,” Kaplan said. “We can gauge its effectiveness instantly by how much bandwidth is pulled from the .TV domain name.”

Anticipating a “tremendous response,” Kaplan said that AEBN, also known as Adult Entertainment Broadcast Network, will then launch the campaign nationwide on both broadcast and cable in a “planned phase-in that increases traffic at a scaleable rate.”

MovieMonster has no membership fees and no recurring billing, which allows consumers to pay as they watch for as little as 8 ½ cents per minute. It offers gay and straight catalogs and movies in English, French, German and Spanish.
