In video for the song "Shifting Through the Lens," Julie and her subs, Rubber Necro and Nikki Sebastian, can be seen dressing the part in latex and pointy boots while performing suspension and other pieces. The video also features Goth clubbers dancing to the track at a nightclub. Simone actually shot some of the footage, along with Zenova Braeden and Jonathan Covert.
"When Nasty Byte approached me about doing the video, I was thrilled,” Simone said. “We used to be roommates in D.C. and worked on projects together — she’s shot for my site and I did camera for some of her interviews of industrial bands. It was definitely a great thrill to be able to showcase what I do on camera to an international mainstream audience. I was excited to also get behind the lens for a video of a band that I used to dance to at clubs.”
The video premiered this past week and can be viewed on Vimeo. The song is featured on Front Line Assembly’s latest album "Improvised Electronic Device" that was released on June 8.
