DVDs from BelAmiOnline and pro/am site CockyBoys are on fire, according to the company.
EuroMedia released “Taboo,” featuring the controversial and popular BelAmi Twins…”going all the way together.” The title is fresh off a three-month exclusive deal that EuroMedia brokered with Bel Ami and TLA for TLAVideo.
The company said that since its release it has broken all sales expectations across the board for the company.
In a recent interview on TowelRoad.com, George Duroy, the founder of BelAmi acknowledged that his company was headed toward moving upwards of 8,000 units and expect it to hit the 10,000 mark in an economy where some studios are happy to sell 500 to 1,000 units.
Hugo Harley, Director of Product Development at EuroMedia said, “Taboo” shows that a unique product, great production value, a healthy amount of PR, and a strategic release pattern can move significant number of units even in today’s marketplace. We're on the phone weekly with the replicator ordering a new batch. It’s a great problem to have.”
The key was the twins’ scene on BelAmiOnline. Over seven months since the scene was released online the DVD continues to garner headlines and sales including a feature on mainstream arts and culture news site, Salon.com.
Another online player that has leaped into the DVD market is CockyBoys.com that’s launched a successful DVD line with EuroMedia.
EuroMedia said it has released four titles to date (“Born To Fuck,” “First Time Fucked,” “Fuck The Hell Out of Me” and “Fuck Machine”) with two more planned.
The company maintained that “Born To Fuck” was a surprise hit out of the gate and has moved thousands of units, spawning orldwide distribution via EuroMedia in North America and Millivres Prowler and Bruno Gmuender handling European Distribution.
"We didn't fathom the Cocky Boys DVDs until EuroMedia helped conceptualize the line," said Kyle Majors, owner of CockyBoys.com. "They took our assets [the images, the videos, & name] and translated our scenes online to DVDs."
The line has been released with heavy European marketing including magazine covers, full-page ads and reviews.
EuroMedia’s Hugo Harley said, “We knew CockyBoys was a very strong brand name when we launched the line so we had good expectations going into it. Not every pay site can translate to DVD; many have tried and failed. CockyBoys worked because of good product and a fair price ... the smoking hot guys don't hurt either. Now with four releases in and thousands of units sold across the line we are more than happy with the response and see it as a long-term premium DVD line.”
