Vivid to Distribute 'Malice in Lalaland'

LOS ANGELES — Vivid Entertainment will distribute "Malice in Lalaland," the new film from Miss Lucifer Productions starring Sasha Grey.

Produced by Joachem Goldstein and Lew Xypher and shot on 35mm film, the movie combines animation, live action and a rock 'n roll score with hot sex and special effects. It is the second production from the director Xypher whose 2008 debut release "Hell is Where the Party Is" received critical acclaim.

“We are delighted that 'Malice' will be distributed by Vivid,” said Jurgen Claes, CEO of Miss Lucifer Productions, which is based in Belgium. “It gives us total confidence that it will be handled in the same highly professional way in which the movie was produced.”

The surreal story is a contemporary adaptation of both "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass," two iconic books by Lewis Carroll. It takes viewers to a strange world where they meet its even stranger characters, including Malice (Grey), who has escaped from an asylum after a nasty round of shock treatment. She follows a midget in a rabbit suit (Stephen Powers) down a hole in a basement en route to a bizarre trip through Lalaland.

“We found this movie to be irresistible and we plan distribution for this September,” said Steven Hirsch, founder/co-chairman of Vivid. “The packaging alone, with its 40-page booklet of photos will make this a choice collector's item. It has mainstream sensibility and extraordinary production values with the erotic punch that only scorching sex scenes can deliver. It's filled with fantastical twists and turns that are inspired by Lewis Carroll but it never forgets that it's designed to be a turn-on.”

Grey, who last year achieved crossover success with her star turn in Academy Award-winning director Steven Soderbergh’s "The Girlfriend Experience" is also set to begin a recurring role in the HBO hit series "Entourage" in August.

In addition to Grey and Stephen Powers, the "Malice" cast also includes Ron Jeremy, Keni Styles, Kagney Linn Karter, Kristina Rose, Andy San Dimas, Chayse Evans, Sadie West, Mackenzee Pierce, Jesse Capelli, Alyssa Reece, Juelz Ventura, Phoenix Marie and Jenna Presley. The male performers include Tommy Gunn, Billy Glide, Chris Johnson, Danny Mountain, Alan Stafford and more.
