Sin City Entertainment editing wizard Sammy Slater is finally getting his shot.
For nearly a decade, Slater has been working long hours in Sin City’s editing room, cleaning up the company’s titles.
While Sin City publicist Devan Cypher says Slater has worked on some of the best porn titles during that time, a company press release added, “he's also done his fair share of making some of the worst movies ever imagined in a drug-induced coma … largely palatable, which is no mean feat if you've ever seen poorly shot porn.”
Sin City General Manager Scott Justice said Slater’s dedication and body of work have earned him the opportunity to take on a larger role in the company’s production process.
“Sammy is not just a loyal employee who is long overdue his shot, he's [also] an extremely talented cameraman and director,” Justice said. “I have every confidence that he's going to blow away the competition without even trying. That's how good he is.”
Slater will remain in charge of Sin City's editing department, but he also will take over directing duties from Christian Knight for the next phase of the Sin City’s “Barely 18” series as well Mayhem's harder-edged imprint line, starting with “Bait 4,” which he filmed over the Dec. 18 weekend.
“The progression from editing and filming to directing titles for Sin City is completely organic,” Slater said. “I've been dreaming up new levels of insanity to take the [over] Mayhem lines the last year, and I'm thrilled that I'm going to get the chance to put some of them in action. [“Bait 4”] is going to be the craziest, most out-of-control, frenetic Mayhem movie in the history of the line. You can count on it.”
