Bunimovitz told reporter Janko Roettgers that he’s not worried about protecting Private’s content with DRM because “free and pirated content is available regardless of whether the encoding is done by us or not.”
He added that by adding such limitations, customers are the ones being punished, when pirates are who should be prosecuted.
With Gamelink offering HTML5 streams for iPad and iPhone users, Bunimovitz noted that the company has noticed a shift away from downloads and toward streams.
However, Bunimovitz said that while the iPad is an impressive device, it’s not the be-all-end-all for adult and other entertainment, and Private plans to embrace all available platforms with a cross-platform strategy.
“Once you (buy) this piece of content, it’s yours on any screen you own,” Bunimovitz said.
